Just how important is community and culture in building a smart society?  Teresa Esser's new book examines the entrepreneurial coffee-shop culture of Cambridge, home of Harvard and MIT.  Featuring dozens of in-depth interviews with young business leaders - both winners and losers from the Internet boom - the book provides a compelling snapshot of the region often called the East Coast's Silicon Valley.

OzProspect sponsored Teresa's 2002 Australian speaking tour.  She briefed the office of Queensland Premier Peter Beattie and was interviewed extensively on radio and by the print media. For more info on Teresa visit The Venture Cafe website.

Greg Barns on The Future of Liberalism

OzProspect presented a public lecture on June 12, 2002 at the ThinkFresh space, 134 Flinders Lane Melbourne by leading Republican, former Liberal Party advisor and Advisory Board member, Greg Barns.  Greg spoke on the work of British theorist John Gray and outlined his view of why it matters to identify with Liberal values in an era preoccupied with security and control.  Author and commentator, Mark Davis, was the respondent to Greg's lecture.
